Credentials of Dr. Bakst - Magnetic Pain Relief Pioneer Print E-mail
Dr. Alvin Bakst has been a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon for forty years and is one of the pioneers in heart surgery. He was Full Professor and Chief of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the New York Medical College Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital.

Performing thousands of operations while bending over an operating table, Dr. Bakst developed back problems which at times were incapacitating. After rejecting back surgery and tiring of medications, Dr. Bakst began researching the feasibility of a non-surgical, drug-free method of pain relief.

Dr. Bakst’s research led him to rediscover the ancient, Far Eastern technique of strategically placing strong, unipolar magnets on areas of the body affected by pain and discomfort. After strategically placing and using neodymium magnets on his own back, Dr. Bakst finally found total relief for his back pain: Magnetic therapy.

Dr. Bakst then designed and created his first magnetic back belt. Based on his design, Dr. Bakst applied for and received a United States Patent for Reducing Sensation in a Human Body Part Using Magnetism (Patent # 5,707,333).

Dr. Bakst has now developed a full range of comfort support products including back, shoulder, knee, foot, ankle, wrist, forearm, and elbow.
